Lauren Dome, PNP
Lauren is exceptionally bright, highly qualified Pediatric nurse practitioner; she is also certified as a Pediatric Mental Health Specialist. She has been a nurse for 24 years and a PNP for 14. As a PNP at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital she had the opportunity to manage patients with severe neurological and neurocognitive disorders.
Since moving to Maryland Lauren has been working in primary care with an emphasis on behavioral mental health issues, and growth and development. Lauren is aware of the challenges faced by parents of children with special needs and has experience helping families navigate the health care and school systems to ensure their child’s needs are met.
As a member of the health care team at Shady Grove Pediatric Neurosciences, her role will be to standardize our approach to certain clinic populations including concussion, headaches, ADHD, and seizure disorders. Such patients typically require a multidisciplinary and comprehensive approach, and Lauren is well equipped to ensure that they are receiving appropriate educational guidance, as well as monitoring of all aspects of their health that may be impacted by their neurologic diagnosis.
All patients’ will continue to see Dr. DiFazio at their initial visit, and subsequently may see either of the neurology providers. Lauren's presence will facilitate communication, and greatly improve patient management. Please welcome Mrs. Dome and as always, provide us with feedback and insight as to how we can better serve you!
