This girl was diagnosed by Dr. DiFazio with Rett syndrome, a neurodegenerative disorder associated with small head size, hand to mouth stereotypic movements and excellent eye contact.
Carrying swords is still apparently common in some parts of eastern Ethiopia. This boy sustained traumatic brain injury during a sword attack on his father.
This teenager was diagnosed by Dr. DiFazio with Multiple Sclerosis. She had presented blind in both eyes with characteristic CT findings. She was much improved at this point.
This four year old was recovering from Tuberculosis which had affected her brain. Note facial asymmetry and left sided weakness.
